Inviting and removing members

  1. The Owner opens Settings → Team, enters the person's email under Invite a member and clicks Send invite.
  2. The person gets an email. If they have no account yet they sign up with exactly that email address.
  3. Until the invite is accepted, it shows in the Pending invites list with the label Awaiting acceptance. The Owner can cancel it from that list.
  4. When they sign in, the Team invitations screen shows the merchant and the role. They choose Accept or Decline.
  5. After Accept they are a member and see only what their role allows (table below).
  6. To remove someone, the Owner clicks Remove next to their name, then Yes, remove. Their access ends right away and they get an email.

Settings sections a role cannot use are left out of that person's menu. On pages they can open, buttons they cannot use are shown disabled with a note that only the owner can change them.

Why ownership cannot be transferred

There is no way to transfer ownership or promote a Staff member or Developer to Owner, and an invite never offers the Owner role. The reason is money. Payouts go to the verified Owner's own bank account, so a button that moved ownership would move control of someone else's money. The Owner can also not be removed and cannot leave, because a merchant must always have an owner.

If someone else takes over the business, they create their own account and merchant and complete verification themselves. Transaction history, payment links and API keys do not move to the new merchant.

Working in several merchants

One login can belong to several merchants, with a different role in each, for example Owner of your own shop and Staff at a friend's. Pick the merchant you are working in with the Merchant selector, in the sidebar on a computer or under Account on a phone. Switching reloads the page with that merchant's data and your role there. The choice is per signed-in device.

The same selector ends with + Create new merchant. It needs a verified email and phone number, stops at 5 merchants you own, and is blocked while any merchant you own is suspended. A new merchant starts as a draft and goes through activation on its own.

Common questions

How do I give a developer access?
The Developer role holds API keys, webhooks (automatic messages to your system when a payment changes status) and the payments needed to check them, and nothing about bank, verification or team. Invite them in Settings → Team and pick Developer as the role. For API details, see API authentication.
What if I invited the wrong role or address?
While the invite is pending, click Cancel next to it and send a new one. After it has been accepted, remove the member and invite them again. They have to accept once more.
Can I remove myself?
Not from the member list, because the Remove button on your own row stays disabled. An Owner cannot leave at all. A Staff member or Developer who wants out can ask the Owner to remove them.
Does removing someone stop their API access?
No. API keys belong to the merchant, not to the person who copied them. If a removed person ever had a live key, use Rotate key in Settings → Developer. The old key stops working at once.
What if the only Owner loses access to their account?
No other member can take over, because the Owner role cannot be given. Email halo@kasera.id from the address linked to the account.
